Your Role at Raising Cane’s:
The Legal Analyst is responsible for supporting the Chief Legal and Administrative Officer and Legal Department on a variety of matters while working collaboratively with other departments in a team-oriented environment. This role will primarily review and revise contracts and other legal documents submitted by internal stakeholders, provide legal support for administering contests and sweepstakes, and provide ad hoc drafting and editing assistance.

Your Impact and Responsibilities:
• Provides administrative and legal support to the Chief Legal and Administrative Officer by reviewing, revising, editing, and drafting communications, contracts, and information decks in Word and PowerPoint formats
• Reviews and revises advertising and promotional agreements, including sponsorship agreements and NDAs, to ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations and governmental guidelines, Raising Cane’s standards, and advertising policies
• Confirms appropriate approvals have been obtained for advertising and promotion agreements
• Tracks the contract lifecycle from initial request to execution and maintains copies of executed contracts in contracts repository
• Reviews and advises on consumer-facing sweepstakes and contests, including drafting or revising official rules, winner affidavits, releases, and other fulfillment documents
• Registers and bonds sweepstakes and contests as required by applicable law
• Manages the legal aspects of cause-related marketing campaigns, including contract review and execution, state registration, bonding, recordkeeping, reporting, and advertising disclosures
• Assists with global trademark portfolio management by compiling information and specimens needed for trademark applications, registration maintenance, and renewals
• Monitors filing deadlines, reviews weekly trademark watch notices, and flags potential issues for review
• Provides litigation support to in-house counsel, including discovery, litigation holds, and file maintenance, while communicating relevant information to key stakeholders
• Completes ad-hoc legal projects as needed and assists with processing of outside counsel invoices

Requirements for Success:
• 15 years of experience in-house law department or law firm, with a background in intellectual property (trademark or copyright), advertising, promotions or entertainment law
• Restaurant or retail experience preferred
• Experience in drafting and reviewing contracts
• Detail-oriented, organized and able to manage multiple priorities that may be constantly changing
• Self-driven, flexible, and highly energetic with strong written and verbal communication skills
• Able to work effectively and efficiently both independently and collaboratively
• Microsoft Proficient: Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
• Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university, plus certificate of completion from ABA-approved paralegal education program, or an associate’s degree in paralegal or legal studies
