Job Description

The Senior Financial Analyst is responsible for supporting the Restaurants within their geographical division and providing actionable financial analysis using strong business acumen and communication skills. This role will be tasked with defining and implementing key systems and processes to drive scalable growth to achieve the company’s long-term goals.

The Senior Financial Analyst will be tasked with owning and assisting with reporting and analysis, budgeting and forecasting, and strategic planning. This role will also be responsible for collaborating cross-functionally across the organization and with the senior leadership team to perform ad hoc analyses, prepare and deliver presentations.

Your Impact and Responsibilities:

Primary Responsibility - Restaurant Support

  • Provides timely, clear, and actionable commentary on financial results, key trends in the business, and forecasts to drive sales, profitability and operational improvements. Actionable reporting includes:
    • Granular restaurant-level sales and traffic analysis highlighting opportunities to the restaurants
    • Granular restaurant-level sales & traffic forecast reviews
    • Key restaurant-level expense analysis specifically for Cost of Goods Sold, Labor, and Operating Expense
    • Hours of operation analysis and other traffic opportunities within the restaurant
    • New restaurant reporting and analytics
  • Identifies financial and operational business opportunities within individual restaurants
  • Supports the financial and operational reporting analysis of restaurant operations for daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual sales
  • Specializes in one functional area of the restaurant business (sales, operations, staffing, etc.) and provides regular reporting and analyses to restaurants on that subject

Secondary Responsibility - Cross-Functional Business Support

  • Develops financial models and tools to identify trends, analyze results, and optimize profit to enhance reporting efficiencies at the restaurant and company levels
  • Prepares and provides the marketing team with actionable commentary on financial results, key trends in the business, and forecasts to drive sales, profitability, and departmental improvements. Actionable reporting and support includes:
    • Monthly and quarterly departmental business reporting
    • Promotional and discount reporting
    • Marketing activation and post-campaign impact / ROI analyses
    • Marketing spend and expense analysis
    • Tool development to support field marketing initiatives
    • System-wide donation tracking
  • Assists in implementing and supporting key technology enhancements that will allow the FP&A, and business intelligence departments to continue to meet the expectations of the growing organization including data warehouse and reporting tool capabilities, and IT systems including Hot Schedules, Great Plains, Aloha, and proprietary technology
  • Assists FP&A team and company leaders to build and prepare financial performance presentations

Supports all other system-wide analysis needs that do not fall under the scope of the individual Restaurant FP&A team(s)

Qualifications

  • 3+ years multi-unit retail or restaurant industry financial analysis preferred (or equivalent experience)
  • Self-driven, flexible, and highly energetic with strong analytical, written, and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively and efficiently both independently and collaboratively
  • Proficient in various technology systems and able to adapt to new systems quickly, i.e. business intelligence and planning software
  • Demonstrated competence in the use of software tools for data extraction, manipulation, analysis, and presentation
  • Microsoft Proficient: Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
  • Able to work out of the Dallas Restaurant Support Office located in Plano, TX
  • Able to travel as required
  • Bachelor’s degree in finance or related field / MBA preferred
