Your Role at Raising Cane’s
The Regional Leader of Training (RLT) is a field-based leader who supervises a team of Area Leaders of Training and is a critical part of the regional Business Unit support team. This leader is primarily responsible for their team’s execution of Raising Cane's training standards across all areas within the region, as well as partnering with the Regional Business Unit Leader on strategic initiatives. While remaining restaurant-focused, this leader serves as both an ambassador for Raising Cane's culture, as well as an expert in the field of training and development.
The physical work environment includes working in a fast-paced kitchen and interacting with and serving customers. This requires extended periods of physical exertion such as walking, standing, and lifting. It also includes working both inside and outside in varied temperatures, with and around food products and common allergens, industrial equipment, commercial cleaning products, and requires use of personal protective equipment and ergonomic activities necessary to complete the job function.
Your Impact and Responsibilities
Primary Responsibility – Restaurant Training:
- Leads and impacts the business through three key pillars; Crew Training, Manager Training and Internal Development
- Leads and develops a team of Area Leaders of Training to set and achieve objectives and goals by providing feedback on execution of functional job responsibilities and overall performance
- Leads Area Leaders of Training in the execution of restaurant training standards through high-level restaurant engagement and analysis of ongoing monthly, quarterly and yearly performance
- Conducts and documents restaurant visits with Area Leaders of Training to evaluate training effectiveness and identify operational support needs
- Facilitates training for Train the Trainer classes for new and updated company initiatives
- Owns the regional strategy and execution of certifications for Training Restaurants
- Owns the internal development strategy for all restaurant crew (including management teams), and delivers performance through coaching and leadership of Area Leaders of Training
- Supports New Restaurant Opening (NRO) training performance through a high-level strategic engagement, partnering with the Regional Leader of Growth
- Leads the selection, hiring, and onboarding of new Area Leaders of Training
- Supports Area Leader of Training staffing and bench strength, and builds succession plans to support business needs
- Supports the successful implementation of company initiatives through detail-oriented and strategic leadership of restaurant training teams across the region
Secondary Responsibility – Partnership with Regional Business Unit Leader:
- Partners with the Regional Business Unit Leader on how to support restaurant performance through the Area Training team’s restaurant engagement
- Provides regular business updates and analysis of restaurant training performance
- Builds strong cross-functional relationships within the Regional Business Unit Team
- Works closely with restaurant recruitment on the strategic development of internal development plans for the region
Requirements for Success
- 5+ years of experience in field training
- 5+ years of restaurant operations experience in quick service or fast casual
- Bachelor’s degree in related field desired
- Microsoft Proficient: Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Word
- Previous experience in leading a team of direct reports, with a proven ability of development
- Able to recognize problems, set goals, create plans and convert plans into action to solve problems
- Exercises good judgment and leverages available data that results in informed decision making
- Maintains high standards of conduct and professionalism
- Exceptional interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively lead, motivate and empower crewmembers and leaders at all levels of the organization
- Detail-oriented, organized and able to manage multiple priorities that may be constantly changing
- Able to work effectively and efficiently both independently and collaboratively
- Able to travel up to 75% and required to live within assigned region
- Possess a valid driver’s license
