Your Role at Raising Cane’s:
The Fixed Asset Accountant plays a leading role in fixed asset and capital project functions. This role supports the Senior Accountant – Capital Projects primarily with the management and accounting of fixed asset and capital project spending.
Your Impact and Responsibilities:
• Reviews submitted invoices to validate that the expenditures meets the requirements to be treated as a capital or to expense as appropriate.
• Monitors and reviews Construction in Progress (CIP) projects and works closely with business unit partners to ensure timely in-service dates with proper useful lives and asset classifications
• Maintains fixed asset records including additions, retirements, transfers and depreciation for multiple companies with multiple ledgers covering GAAP and Tax
• Monitors and responds to inquiries from internal stakeholders about accounting for fixed asset transactions
• Performs ongoing reporting and analysis, including monthly, quarterly, and annual management reporting of capital expenditures.
• Supports annual financial audits, as well as other ancillary audits including sales and use tax audits.
• Collaborates with the broader accounting team on fixed asset related projects
Requirements for Success:
• 2+ years of experience in fixed asset accounting, restaurant industry experience a plus
• Detail-oriented, organized and able to manage multiple priorities that may be constantly changing
• Self-driven, flexible, and highly energetic with strong written and verbal communication skills
• Passionate about understanding of how fixed assets and capital projects impact Raising Cane’s
• Proficient with MS Office, Fortune 500 or large private company ERP financial systems, Workday financials experience a plus
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or related field
